Global Zalmi Program

Global Zalmi emanated from Pakistan, under Peshawar Zalmi’s patronage by Chairman Mr. Javed Afridi back in 2016. Global Zalmi is a club-driven infrastructure that connects Zalmi fans & players from different countries at one place without any discrimination of nation, color, or religion. Presently, our 28 clubs are representing Peshawar Zalmi in their respective countries and working effectively to foster cricket. It is a great privilege for Global Zalmi to facilitate our registered clubs in developing cricket in non-test playing nations. Our club’s players are adequately proficient in the game and making their way to national teams. Global Zalmi’s transcend efforts are flourishing the cricket and Zalmi.

The 1st edition of the Global Zalmi League was held in Ajman City, UAE, in 2017. Total 8 Zalmi Clubs participated in the first edition and exhibited tremendous gameplay and passion for cricket. Dubai Zalmi played brilliantly; their above-the-sky morale led them to lift the winner’s trophy. In the first edition of GZL-2017, renowned and everyone’s favorite cricketer, Shahid Khan Afridi was invited as Chief Guest along with the Chairman of Global Zalmi Program; Mr. Javed Afridi.

In the 2nd edition of Global Zalmi League – 2018 stage was again set in Ajman City, UAE. In this edition, teams were increased to sixteen (16 teams) due to immense interest from Pakistan overseas Zalmi fans. The management decided to enhance the slots and let the event on its full hype and excitement. Shaoxing Zalmi (China) was the champions of GZL-2018. In the final game, West-Indian player and PSL sensation Daren Sammy, national player Hassan Ali, and former cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq made the event more exciting with their presence as the Chief Guests.

After conducting back-to-back successful events, the management decided to invite our overseas Zalmi clubs to Pakistan in order to promote peace and softer image of Pakistan as a safe destination. Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan was finalized as a venue for the 3rd edition of Global Zalmi League – 2019. The Global Zalmi clubs from 16 countries delivered extended games full of passion and joy. In a thrilling final, Kabul Zalmi (Afghanistan) sealed the deal as champions of the 3rd edition of GZL.

1. Alby Zalmi Cricket Club Cleanliness Activity with Swedish Government

Alby Zalmi Cricket Club a registered club of Global Zalmi participated in cleanliness activity with the Swedish Govt. to promote safe, healthy, oxygenated & green environment for generations to come.

2. Calgary Zalmi Cricket Club Physical Fitness Awareness

Calgary Zalmi Cricket Club promoted physical fitness among adults in the community. The event had 120 participants who took part in cricket games amongst each other at City Scape Ground.

3. Canadian Zalmi Social Support Initiative

Canadian Zalmi helped 3160 families & supported people from different race & religion. $150K has been donated since 2018. 84 active volunteers participated and rendered 2300+ tireless hours.
